I switched to using pea protein from whey for easier digestion. I’m also normally a huge fan of pea products and eat them often. The taste was stronger than i expected and I would not recommend this powder with milk or water alone. You will absolutely need sugar or fruit to cut the taste. I would describe the taste and texture as earthy, almost like sand but not as coarse.

Did not come with a scoop inside, so that’s kinda annoying. I’m just using my 1/4 measuring cup as a scoop instead. 1/4cup is basically equal to 64cc or 4tbsp, the serving size.
EDIT: Found the scoop! It did have a scoop, but it was really buried down deep in the powder, even though the jar only comes half-full because of compacting down during shipping. So go digging in your powder and you’ll probably find your scoop.
It smells faintly of peas and it will taste like horrible pea chalk if you just eat it by itself. I strongly do not recommend putting this in water. You need to put it in a smoothie or sauce or something so you can barely taste it. I do a morning smoothie every morning: 14 cups spinach and 2 cups orange. It’s a huge smoothie and I can still taste a hint of peas from behind the spinach. If you do smaller smoothies, then you might want to do 1/2 serving size so the pea taste doesn’t overwhelm.
I doubt many protein powders taste that good unless you dump a ton of sugar and fat into them. So don’t expect “pea chalk” to taste good by itself or in a glass of water. Put it in a smoothie or something else and it should be fine, even if you can still taste a hint of peas.
UPDATE:
While the plain Naked Pea powder is fine, I really wanted the taste of peas to be toned down a little…. but I didn’t want to add bananas or anything else to my smoothie. So I decided to try out the Vanilla Naked Pea powder. It’s PERFECT. Having that bit of sugar and vanilla in the powder totally knocks down the strong pea taste and my smoothie tastes great again.
I don’t think you have to have the vanilla or chocolate favored version if you’re putting enough stuff in your smoothie, but if you think the plain pea protein is still too strong, then definitely try out the vanilla or chocolate version. It makes such a difference.
I did also try out the vanilla flavored KOS protein powder because its rated as the “best tasting” by many websites. I did NOT like it. It was 10000x times TOO sweet. It was giving me a headache and a stomach ache it was so sweet. It was so overwhelming that even with 14 cups of spinach, I couldn’t taste ANY of the spinach, all I could taste was an atomic bomb level of vanilla sweetness. That is seriously strong stuff to be able to overwhelm all of that spinach in my smoothie.
So I’m definitely sticking with Vanilla Naked Pea. Just a bit of sweetness to make it pleasant and hide the pea taste without giving me atomic bomb levels of sweetness that literally cause stomach aches and headaches and make it impossible to taste anything else in your smoothie.
I do NOT recommend putting plain Naked Pea in water to drink. Definitely need to put it in a smoothie or something else. But you might be able to put the Vanilla or Chocolate version of Naked Pea in water and be OK. It really does knock down almost all of the pea flavor, so the main thing you’re tasting is vanilla or chocolate, even in plain water.

Not sure what are these negative reviews about it tasting bad. The unflavored version of pea protein tastes normal maybe a bit salty. If your palate is used to highly processed/flavored foods you will dislike everything that’s not flavored with additives or processed. M glad I took a chance and ordered it.
Have had it as just blended in water/coconut water, had it as smoothie. Didn’t experience any bloating or it causing gas, maybe because I am used to eating lentils and beans often.
It definitely keeps me full for long time. Earlier I would always feel unsatiated even after having full meal, but this is a game changer. No more munching on the snacks no frequent visits to the kitchen or standing in front of open refrigerator looking for something to eat.
Yes it’s little expensive but better than wasting money on highly processed junk food. Take a chance with an open mind and get creative.. as most things are an acquired taste.
PS: big bottle came slightly damaged on one side like it got dropped, there was dent on it but chose to keep it as seal wasn’t affected and bottle wasn’t cracked.

Alone by itself, this tastes like sweaty balls. But, if you use Unsweetened vanilla almond milk as the base and then add 1 serving of Durelife organic monk fruit sweetener per serving of Naked protein. It takes the edge off and it’s just sweet enough to make it easy to drink. I actually enjoy the flavor a little. My goal was to have the least amount of ingredients and sweetness as possible while having tolerable flavor and this is the magic mixture I have been looking for all these years.
Doesn’t upset my stomach like other stuff, I mix with a hand blender and it mixed really well. Thickness is somewhere between milk and a milkshake when mixed with 7 ounces of fluid per serving.
Definitely recommend this product for my fellow keto dieters.

I’m trying to avoid super processed foods and sugar and this was the third powder I tried after whey and another vegan version that didn’t blend that well. This is pretty much perfect for what I was looking for. Its list of ingredients is simple, it’s fairly low in sugar, it blends well, and it has 25 grams of protein a serving. It’s not SUPER sweet. I use a cup of almond milk, a frozen banana and cinnamon and it comes out perfect but if you’re into super sweet things, you might need additional fruit or honey/maple syrup or other sweetener.

what’s great about this product is it’s literally super simple ingredients so you know you’re getting good proteins, that’s not super tainted. The problem is. It is extremely bitter . Not even the tiniest bit sweet, so you must sweeten it with a couple of squirts of agave(extra calories )or something , it’s also kind of hard to mix. You definitely need a shaker cup with a mixing ball or blender.

I’m happy with the price and size. The ingredients are of good quality. The taste is meh but I usually mix it with other powders (bcaa’s and collagen) so I didn’t notice any blandness. The issue for me is the weird way when you scoop it, they form into little spikes on the outside (see videos up up) and I can’t tell what that is. Does that count as mold or what. Did it as soon as I opened it. But the major issue for me was the bloating and extreme gas. For almost a month I was having gas like every 5-10 mins and I couldn’t understand why. Doctor said to try and cut out certain foods/drinks that I newly introduced into my diet. I quit red meats, nothing. Quit white rice, nothing. Quit this pea protein powder and it less than 2 days, the problem was solved. I’m sure others can digest this more easily than me. But to be safe if I were you, I would try ordering a small size (any brand) and try it out for a week or two, see if your body can handle it well or if you run into the same embarrassing problem as me…my coworkers were not happy with that issue (/_-)

Some negative reviewers say its chalky or whatever. Try adding to a smoothie. Its tasteless so, yes, bland by itself. If not a fan of smoothies, simply add vanilla extract and simple syrup or Hershey’s chocolate or strawberry syrup to it. Its not rocket science! Easy fixes!
I use in smoothies-works great in a smoothie and doesn’t add flavor (that’s a good thing). Price is right. Highly recommend.

Whey doesn’t always sit right with me and in my search for an alternative, I tried many other proteins. The first pea protein I tried was super chalky and I never tried it again until I took a chance with the chocolate peanut butter Naked Shake. That stuff tastes great and is very smooth, not chalky at all with no GI issues. I took a second chance with chocolate peanut butter Naked Pea. The ingredients are the same so I thought it would be the same. Unfortunately it’s not. The taste is very mild compared to Naked Shake but everything else is the same. Very smooth and not chalky with no GI issues. Naked Pea has a better value compared to Naked Shake but you sacrifice taste.

Here’s the thing: you need to compare apples to apples. You can’t compare the flavor and blendability of this protein powder with your run-of-the-mill vanilla, whey powder with 20 ingredients and fake sweetner. What you want to do is compare this to other vegetarian/vegan protein power options. With that in mind, this is a great option. And the best part? It’s 27 grams of protein and ONE ingredient.
I have tried a few vegetarian protein powders, but they were chalky and kind of gross, and I can’t tolerate whey protein. I decided to give the naked pea protein powder a try after I started strength training again, and I think it’s a great option. I use it with the Naked brown rice protein. It’s not perfect, but for a non-whey, non-sugar, unflavored powder, it’s good. Even plain, the flavor is pretty benign, and it causes me no stomach issues. I add it to my smoothie every day, and it mixes relatively well. I have a high-speed smoothie blender, so I’m sure that helps. The smoothie has chia seeds, banana, a splash of orange juice, frozen berries and the protein powder. The banana and berries sweeten things up enough for me. This is a great option for me to up my protein intake.
